I offer short-term counselling (6 to 12 sessions) as well as longer-term psychotherapy usually once a week depending on your needs, progress and resources. Some people may find some relief from just a couple of counselling sessions but for any deeper issues, regular counselling is advised.
What happens in a session?
Due to my wide-ranging training I adapt the counselling style to your unique circumstances, personality and preferences, I don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach.
Counselling is a talking therapy but other activities such as guided visualisation, drawing and writing can enhance this process when and if appropriate.
I also offer EMDR therapy: a powerful way to resolve present issues with roots in difficult memories or recent traumatic events.
